An incredibly passionate, engaging and creative individual, Jake has had an extensive career in business, project management, hospitality, tourism, and professional development. A leader in business strategy and team development, cultivating environments that encourage greater potential is one of Jakes’s many strengths.

With over 12 years of hands-on experience in the hospitality and tourism sector, Jake holds an impressive career having worked in some of Tasmania’s and Australia’s most acclaimed hospitality and tourism businesses. Jake is what you would call the complete allrounder, having worked at every level of a hospitality and tourism business. From front of house to kitchens, PR and events, management and training, opening and closing venues, Jake could quite comfortably walk you through every aspect of a hospitality/tourism business from concept to running management and give sound guidance from his lived experience.

His most recent accomplishments are managing the operations and events for Hobart Restaurant Group, home to a suite of well-known restaurants: Smolt Restaurant, Frank Restaurant and Bar, Smolt Kitchen and Suzie Lucks Canteen and Cocktail Bar. Within his time with the group, he helped facilitate the opening of Frank Restaurant, Smolt Kitchen and Suzie Lucks Canteen and Cocktail Bar, whilst managing the closing of Hobarts institution, Smolt Restaurant. He managed all operation logistics for the entire group of restaurants and was responsible for the effective management of 150 staff members.

During his time, Jake has developed world-class experience and product knowledge for all thing’s food, wine and spirit. Jake is well known for his WSET style trainings that he would regularly conduct for his employees to ensure high-level product knowledge. Additionally, Jake possesses an incredible amount of knowledge and experience in the back of house logistics, having built and managed multiple websites, POS systems, ordering systems and rostering systems. He is also well versed in HR policy and best practice procedures.

Through his own business Jake-William and as part of the Impact Solutions International team, Jake is wholeheartedly committed to creating and facilitating experiences that inspire growth. As part of the Impact Solutions team, Jake has co-facilitated ISI’s Emerging Leaders Program as well as youth development programs for the Windward Bound Trust on multiple occasions. Jake is well known for his hugely successful men’s wellbeing program ‘The Empowered Man’; a program supporting the mental and emotional wellbeing of men of all ages.

When not supporting the wellbeing of others, Jake is usually found off somewhere with a guitar in hand and the Red Hot Chili Peppers plugged into his headset.
